Working with little connectivity: how Khedma's offline mode works
Coverage in Morocco is good in cities but drops in villages, mountains, fields and inside some buildings. The Khedma app is designed so that not everything stops when the internet disappears, because a worker who loses signal for a few minutes should not lose an opportunity.
What still works offline
- You can browse the latest tasks and data you opened before; they are stored on your phone for up to seven days.
- A banner at the top of the screen tells you you are offline, so you do not think the app is broken.
- You can make an offer, counter, accept, withdraw or reserve: the action is recorded and queued.
What happens when signal returns
Actions you took offline are not lost, even if you close the app or restart the phone. As soon as the app confirms it can reach the server they are sent automatically in order. Keep in mind a task may have been given to another worker while you were away; you will be told if so.
Two tips
- Open the app with a signal so it saves the latest tasks before you head to a weak-coverage area.
- When a payment or agreement matters, check the message shows as sent before you leave the covered area.
What needs a connection
Live chat, new-task alerts and photo uploads need a connection.
